1989 – Founded FLUID d.o.o.
With over 20 years of experiences from working for company VOZILA GORICA, Albin Birsa decided to start a business on his own. At the beginning, the company was dealing with technical consulting on road tanker equipment.

1990 – First pump metric station (ČMA) built
Started with production of pump metric stations and small bottoms for different products. In the following years FLUID made over 90 ČMAs for different customers.

1991 – Specialised shop in Ajdovščina
FLUID opened a shop in Ajdovščina for selling different equipment and materials for hydraulics, pneumatics and welding. The shop is still alive and is locally recognized as a reliable source for different equipment and materials.

1993 – First two aircraft refuelling tankers built
After long counselling, discussion and negotiations FLUID started production of the first road tankers – military refuellers for Slovenian Army (MORS). For this purpose, we decided to temporarily contract our shop area and rearrange it into a small workshop.

1994 – Rented first hall for production in Batuje
5 years after the start, Albin Birsa decided it was time to do a step further. FLUID rented half of one production hall in Batuje and started installing electronic measuring equipment and offering service and maintenance for road tankers.

1995 – The largest service center for tanker service and maintenance in Slovenia and Croatia
In 1995 FLUID purchased 550 m2 of the production hall in Batuje and had 10 employees. Our services were recognized on Slovenian and Croatian market and we became the largest service centre for road takers. Besides servicing FLUID was growing also in production of vehicles.

1999 – Exhibition of commercial vehicles – Zagreb; First exhibition outside Slovenia
For the first time FLUID exhibited our products outside Slovenia. At Zagreb fair we presented two of our products; road tanker for fuels and road tanker for bitumen and heavy oils.

2000 – 100th tanker built
7 years after the start of production of road tankers, FLUID achieved an important milestone by producing its 100th tanker.

2000 – Nominated for the title »Entrepreneur of the year 2001«
FLUID was growing and its successes were not overlooked. Slovenian magazine »Podjetnik« (Entrepreneur) nominated Albin Birsa as a candidate for the title »Entrepreneur of the year 2001«. In the end, Albin Birsa finished 5th (12 candidates).

2002 – ISO 9001:2000 quality certificate (LINK!)
After preparing the system for almost a year, FLUID had in 2002 successfully passed the auditing for ISO 9001:2000 and got the certificate. In 2006 the certificate was prolonged up to 2008.

2003 – Yearly income over 1 billion SIT (approx. 4 mio EUR)
FLUID was constantly growing on all areas – production, services, number of employees, yearly income,… In 2003 another milestone was set by yearly income surpassing the 1 billion SIT (approx. 4 mio EUR) amount, which was also one of the signs showing that FLUID is overgrowing SMALL companies and is becoming a MEDIUM-SIZED company.

2005 – over 100 tankers per year built; 500th tanker built
In 2005 FLUID built 109 tankers in one year and total number of the tankers grew over 500. FLUID was and is recognized as competitive manufacturer of road tankers throughout the European countries and even in the middle east (Oman).

2006 – GAZELA - 3rd place – BEST SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN SLOVENIA (2000-2005)
At the annual selection of the best Slovenian small and medium enterprises (SME) FLUID was awarded with bronze »GAZELA« (3rd place).
The jury for this competition analysed past achievements of all Slovenian SMEs, their current market position, their impact on the local community and promises for the future. On the basis of the results of this analysis, the jury decided that between years 2000 and 2005 FLUID performed as 3rd best Slovenian SME.

2006 – purchased majority share in FLUID UTVA AD PANČEVO (Serbia)
In the April 2006 FLUID became a multinational company by purchasing majority (over 75%) share in Serbian company UTVA VOZILA AD. Soon after purchasing, the company was renamed into FLUID UTVA AD and the process of reorganisation and reconstruction of the core production lines started.

2007 – RRC FLUID - Development Research Centre FLUID
In the Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS) registered research development department RRC FLUID - Development Research Centre FLUID for the development of new products from existing program production companies FLUID and the development of new products from other areas of transport equipment and development of new technologies in welding work process.

2008 – The highest number of manufactured products in one year
In 2008, FLUID produced the largest number of products per year, 127 tankers was made. We gain new customers while we maintain the regular also. We produced a large number of different types of tanks. Annual revenues exceed 12 million EUR.
